The Trucking Business (thetruckingbusiness.com)
The Trucking Business is a DBA of UNO Group LLC

Effective November 1, 2026

Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

The Trucking Business is a DBA of UNO Group LLC, a Florida limited liability company. We provide business startup and regulatory compliance filing services for trucking companies. We are an independent private company. We are not FMCSA, USDOT, or any other government agency, and we are not affiliated with any government agency.

This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, client portal, services, courses, digital products, free tools, and email features. It also explains how we use the information, who receives it, how long we keep it, and what choices and rights you have.

This policy covers information handled by The Trucking Business. It does not control records held by a government agency, records held by your own company, or a website you reach through an outside link. Those records are governed by the record keeper and its rules.

Information We Collect

Information You Give Us at Checkout

When you buy a service, course, bundle, or other product, we collect your name, email address, product or package, any package option you choose, the amount, and the billing type. We send the information needed to open the payment to Stripe, our payment processor.

Stripe collects your payment information on Stripe payment pages. We do not receive or store your full card number. Stripe sends us payment status and limited payment information, such as the type of payment used and, for a card payment, the card brand and last 4 digits. That limited information can appear in a receipt or order record.

For a subscription, we keep the records needed to show the subscription, payments, refunds, and cancellation state. For a course or bundle, we also keep the Stripe session reference connected to the purchase.

Information You Give Us in an Intake Form

After a purchase, you may complete an intake form for the service you bought. The form is specific to the service. Depending on the service, it can collect:

  • Your first and last name, email address, and phone number
  • Your legal business name, trade name, business structure, and formation state
  • Your Employer Identification Number, called an EIN
  • Your business physical address and mailing address
  • Your USDOT number and MC number
  • Cargo information, hazardous materials status, truck count, driver count, and annual miles
  • Prior affiliation with another trucking company, when a filing asks for that history
  • Insurance status and state account numbers you provide
  • Vehicle unit number, vehicle identification number, license plate, and vehicle weight
  • Audit type, audit agency, audit date, records you hold, and the name of your electronic logging device provider
  • The name, email address, and phone number for a compliance contact or a Designated Employer Representative, called a DER
  • Clearinghouse account status, consortium status, query plan status, and Login.gov account status
  • The best time to reach you, when a form asks for it
  • Your answers in any free text field on the form
  • Your service authorizations, your certification that the answers are true, your typed electronic signature, and the date you sign

Some forms ask for information about a driver. That information can include the driver full name, date of birth, CDL number, CDL issuing state, the driver relationship to your company, consent status, and the consent period. A roster field can ask for those items for more than one driver.

When an authority intake includes a signed limited power of attorney, we keep the intake version, the certification name and date, and a signed copy of the limited power of attorney with the order documents.

Please do not place a Social Security number, a bank login, a government account password, or a login code in an intake field, a contact message, or an ordinary email to us. Government account identity checks and biometric checks are completed by the account holder inside the government system. We do not need your government account password to provide our services.

Documents You Upload

A service can ask you to upload documents. Depending on the service, those documents can include:

  • An IRS EIN letter, such as Form CP 575
  • A business license or articles of organization
  • A driver license or CDL, front and back
  • An insurance certificate
  • A signed driver consent form
  • An FMCSA notice
  • Driver qualification files
  • Vehicle maintenance records
  • Drug and alcohol testing records
  • Hours of service records
  • Another document you choose to place in a requested document slot

A document can contain other personal information that appears in the document itself. We use uploaded documents for the service connected to the order. Client uploads are stored in a private storage bucket. Access to a stored file is provided through links that expire.

Staff can also place documents on your order, including filing confirmations, prepared documents, reports, digital products, and a Clearinghouse query result when that result is part of your order documents.

Information From Booking a Call

Some services include a kickoff call. Our booking record contains your order number and the date and time you choose. Your name and email address come from the order record. We use the phone number from your intake form to call you.

Booking emails include a calendar file with your name, email address, order number, and the call date and time. A booking email or portal page can also offer a Google Calendar link. Information is sent to Google only if you choose to open that link.

We do not collect booking notes through the booking form.

Information You Give Us Through the Contact Form

If you send a message from our contact page, we collect your name, email address, the topic you select, the optional order number you provide, and the message you write. We store the message in our inquiries inbox and send it to our team by email. We also send you a confirmation copy.

Our team can add a status and an assignment to an inquiry record so the message can be tracked and answered.

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell a person from a bot. Your browser runs the security check, and our server sends Cloudflare the check result and your IP address for validation. Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not need your form entries to perform that security function.

Free Tools and Emailed Resources

Some pages let you email yourself a copy of your results or a resource list, such as our calculators. When you use one, we keep your email address and the results or list you asked for, so we can help you faster if you contact us later. Asking for a copy is not a marketing subscription. We only send marketing emails if you separately choose to receive them, and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell this information.

We keep your email and your results for our records, so we can help you faster if you reach out. One email with your results. No spam, and you are not signing up for anything else.

For a calculator, we save your email address, the calculator topic, the result headline, and the result lines as a lead record. The calculator runs in your browser. We receive the result information only when you ask us to email it.

For the broker list and the DOT audit checklist, the email content is a fixed resource. We save your email address, the resource you requested, and your choice on the free trucking tips checkbox.

Two forms offer a separate checkbox labeled “Also send me free trucking tips”: the broker list form and the DOT audit checklist form. Checking that box is your choice to receive free trucking tips emails from The Trucking Business. Leaving the box unchecked means you will receive the resource you asked for and no tips subscription will be created from that request. We keep a record of the choice you made.

Free trucking tips are sent only to people who checked the tips box. If you opt out of marketing email, we will stop sending marketing email to that address, and we honor every opt out request. An opt out does not stop order messages, account messages, security messages, service messages, or messages the law requires us to send. Every marketing email we send will identify us as the sender, include a valid physical postal address, and explain how to opt out through a working method.

Google Review Ask

The first time you use one of our email yourself tools, we may show you an invitation to review UNO Group LLC on Google. The invitation can appear on the page after a successful send and inside the results email. It appears on the Cost Per Mile calculator, the Startup Cost calculator, the broker list, and the DOT audit checklist.

We show the same invitation without regard to whether your experience was positive or negative. We offer no payment, discount, gift, or other incentive for a review.

To avoid asking you again, we keep a record of your email address, the tool that showed the invitation, the time it was shown, and the time you clicked the review button if you clicked it. The button first passes through our review link so we can record the click, and then it takes you to Google. Google does not tell us which email address posted a review, and our record does not tell us what you wrote in a review.

If you ask us to delete the review record, the invitation may appear again because the record that prevents a repeat invitation will be gone.

Account and Portal Information

If you use our client portal, we store the email address you use to sign in. Portal login is passwordless. We send a one time code to your email through Supabase Auth, and you enter the code to sign in.

After the code is verified, our app gives your browser a signed portal token. The token contains your email address and an expiry time. It can last up to 30 days. Portal pages use the token to request your own orders, intake answers, bookings, documents, courses, and product access.

The portal can show your orders, intake answers, document names and states, staff notes about a document that needs a clearer copy, bookings, course purchases, and access dates. The greeting name you choose for the portal is stored in your browser.

Courses and Digital Products

When you buy a course or bundle, we keep your name, email address, order number, product, course, amount, purchase time, Stripe session reference, payment state, and refund state. We also keep the times when a purchase confirmation email and a course ready email were sent.

Course access is administered from the purchase record, the course opening date, and the course release record. We keep purchase and delivery records so we can provide access, prove delivery, handle a refund question, and meet tax and record duties.

When you open a digital product through the portal, we check the purchase connected to your signed in email address before we provide a download link that expires.

Information About Drivers and Other People

A customer may give us information about drivers, owners, officers, employees, or other people when that information is needed for a filing, consortium enrollment, a Clearinghouse query, or an audit service.

If you provide information about another person, provide only the information needed for the service and only when you have the authority and any consent required for us to use it for that service. The driver consent for a Clearinghouse query is separate from your service authorization to us.

Driver dates of birth and CDL details are collected when a purchased service needs them. For the service itself, those details go only to the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a DOT drug and alcohol consortium, or a testing related provider that needs them to perform the authorized step. Our general service providers listed in this policy may process an order record that contains driver information only to perform the database, storage, email, hosting, and security functions described in this policy. We never use driver information for marketing.

If you are a driver or another person whose information was provided by a customer, you may contact us at the privacy address in this policy to ask about the information we hold about you. Some requests may need help from the customer who provided the information, and some records may be governed by DOT rules or held by an agency or your employer.

Information We Receive From Others

We can receive information from:

  • Stripe, including payment status, refund state, subscription state, and limited payment information
  • A government agency, including a filing result, notice, or confirmation connected to your service
  • A customer who provides information about a driver or another person for a requested service
  • A service provider, when a delivery, security, or account result is needed to complete a request you made

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the site, hosting and service systems receive standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the page or resource requested, and the time of the request. We use that information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.

Our site and email designs load fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser or email client sends the font request to Google, and that request can include your IP address and browser information.

We do not use an analytics package or advertising tracker on the site at the time this policy takes effect. We do not collect precise location information from your device.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Run and secure the website and portal
  • Process an order, payment, refund, or subscription
  • Prepare and submit a filing you purchased and authorized
  • Enroll drivers or coordinate a service you authorized
  • Communicate with you about an order, filing, account, course, product, or inquiry
  • Schedule and hold a kickoff call
  • Send a free tool result or resource you requested
  • Show the Google review invitation once per email address and record a review button click
  • Send free trucking tips email only to a person who checked the tips box
  • Provide course and digital product access
  • Keep order, payment, filing, delivery, and activity records
  • Assign work, track document review, correct a record, and resolve a dispute
  • Meet legal, tax, agency, and record duties
  • Prevent fraud, spam, misuse, and unauthorized access
  • Answer a privacy request

We do not use driver drug and alcohol records, Clearinghouse records, or document uploads for marketing.

We do not use personal information to make an automated decision that produces a legal or similarly important effect about a person.

Who We Share Information With

We share personal information only for the reasons in this policy. We do not sell your personal information for money or other value. We do not rent it or trade it, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

Government Agencies

We share the information a filing requires with the agency that processes it, because that is the service you hired us to perform. Agencies can include FMCSA and state agencies.

Information submitted to an agency becomes part of that agency record. Some carrier information, such as USDOT and MC numbers, operating authority status, and insurance filings, is publicly available from the agency itself. We cannot control, change, or delete what an agency keeps or publishes. A deletion request sent to us does not delete an agency record.

Process Agents, Consortium, and Testing Related Providers

Some services require another authorized participant. Depending on the service you buy and authorize, information can be shared with:

  • A process agent provider for a BOC-3 designation
  • A DOT drug and alcohol consortium for driver enrollment
  • The FMCSA Clearinghouse for an authorized query or account service
  • A testing program participant, such as a collection site, laboratory, or medical review officer, when the authorized program requires that step

We share only the information needed for the authorized step. DOT drug and alcohol information is also governed by federal confidentiality and record rules. We do not release an individual DOT test result except as the driver has authorized in the manner the rule requires, as the authorized service requires, or as applicable DOT rules and law allow.

Service Providers

We use service providers to run the site and deliver services:

  • Stripe, for payment processing, subscriptions, refunds, and payment records
  • Supabase, for our database, file storage, and portal login codes
  • Resend, for sending email
  • Vercel, for website hosting, site operations, and scheduled course release checks
  • Cloudflare, for Turnstile security checks on the contact form
  • Email mailbox and forwarding services, which receive and store messages sent to our business addresses

These providers receive the information needed for the function they perform.

Google provides fonts for the site and emails. Google also provides the Calendar page and the review page if you choose to open those links. When you use a Google page, Google handles your interaction with that page under Google policies.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when the law requires it, such as in response to a court order, a subpoena, or a lawful request from a government authority. We may also disclose information when it is needed to protect our rights, enforce our terms, prevent fraud, or protect the safety of a person.

We will limit a legal disclosure to the information the law requires. When the law allows us to tell you about a legal request for your information, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you before we disclose it.

Business Change

If UNO Group LLC is involved in a sale, merger, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of its business or assets, personal information connected to the transferred business may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law. If a transfer changes how your information will be used in a material way, we will provide notice where the law requires it.

With Your Direction

We may share information with a person or company when you direct us to do so for a service or request. Once information is delivered at your direction, the recipient record is governed by that recipient.

Cookies and Browser Storage

Our app does not set cookies of its own. Stripe may set cookies on Stripe payment pages. Cloudflare Turnstile can use browser technology needed to complete its security check.

Our portal uses storage in your browser. That storage can hold:

  • Your portal email address
  • A signed portal token that can last up to 30 days
  • Orders shown in your portal, including intake answers returned with those orders
  • Document names, states, and links that expire
  • Booking information
  • A greeting name you choose
  • Progress in a startup roadmap tool

Browser storage stays on your device until it expires, you clear site data in your browser, or the app removes it. If you use a shared device, close the portal and clear site data for this site when you finish. We cannot clear storage on your own device for you.

We do not use cookies or browser storage to build an advertising profile. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add an analytics or advertising cookie in the future, we will update this policy before we add it.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is no sale or sharing to stop. You can also send a privacy request to the email address in this policy. The site does not change its operation in response to a Do Not Track signal because no advertising tracking is used.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only for the purposes in this policy, for the periods required by law or a record duty, and for the time needed to resolve a dispute or prove a transaction. The period depends on the kind of record.

Contact Messages and Free Tool Records

We keep contact messages, calculator records, broker list records, and checklist records while they are useful for answering you, helping you later, proving a request or consent choice, and meeting record duties.

We keep a marketing consent record and an opt out record while they are needed to prove the choice and to make sure a person who opted out is not sent marketing email.

Orders, Intake, and Filing Records

We keep order, payment, intake, authorization, filing, subscription, and refund records while a service is active and after it ends when the records are needed for filing proof, tax and accounting duties, chargeback or dispute handling, agency questions, and legal duties.

A finished order case file can contain the order, the payment record, the signed intake and power of attorney when one applies, the documents sent both ways, and the full activity trail. We keep a finished service order case file sealed for at least 7 years after the order is completed, unless a longer period is required by law or needed for a dispute. After the 7 year period, the case file is reviewed for deletion or restricted archival.

If a correction is made to an intake record, we keep the version history needed to show what was submitted and what was corrected. A staff correction does not rewrite the customer signature or sign date.

DOT, Consortium, and Clearinghouse Records

Some DOT, consortium, Clearinghouse, testing, and consent records follow federal or state record periods that depend on the record and on the role of the company that holds it. We keep those records for the period that applies to the record and to our role in the service.

Your company may have its own duty to keep a driver consent, testing record, or qualification file. Keeping a copy with your order does not remove your company duty to keep the record your company is required to hold.

Documents and Case Files

We keep uploaded documents, staff deliverables, and case files under the order record period that applies to them. A case file is a copy of the order record made for audit, accounting, dispute, and service proof.

Staff exports are company records when they are downloaded for business work. They are covered by the same record duties as the records they copy.

Courses and Digital Products

We keep course and digital product purchase records during the access period and after it ends when the records are needed to prove purchase or delivery, handle a refund or dispute, and meet tax and record duties. The end of course access does not by itself delete the purchase record.

Review Ask Records

We keep a review ask record while it is needed to honor the ask once rule and to show when the invitation was shown or clicked. If the record is deleted at your request, the invitation may be shown again.

Provider and Security Records

Our service providers keep service, delivery, and security records under their own settings and legal duties. A deletion request to us covers the records we control. It does not delete a record that a provider or agency must keep under its own duty and does not control.

When we dispose of a record, we take reasonable steps intended to make the personal information unreadable or undecipherable.

Security

We use safeguards that match the records we hold. Those safeguards include:

  • A private storage bucket for order documents
  • Server controlled access to database and storage records
  • A portal token tied to the email address verified by a one time code
  • Access controls on office tools
  • Document links that expire
  • Client upload limits for file type and file size
  • Activity records for order work
  • Hosted Stripe payment pages, so a full card number does not touch our systems

Access to customer information inside our business is limited to the people who need it to do the work.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your information, we will investigate it and notify affected people and regulators when the law requires us to do so.

You can reduce risk by keeping control of the email account used for portal login, using a private device for sensitive documents when you can, and clearing site data after using a shared device. Never send us a government account password, a portal login code, a bank login, or full payment card details by email or through a website form.

Your Choices and Rights

You may ask us to:

  • Show you the personal information we hold about you
  • Give you a copy of information you provided, in a commonly used electronic form when we can do so without exposing another person's information
  • Correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • Delete your information, subject to the exceptions in this policy
  • Limit a use of your information or object to a use
  • Stop marketing email to your address
  • Explain a decision if we cannot grant all or part of a request

Send a request to hello@thetruckingbusiness.com. Tell us the email address connected to the record and what you are asking us to do.

We will answer within 45 days after we receive a complete request. If a request is complex or we receive many requests at the same time, we may need up to 45 more days. If we need more time, we will tell you within the first 45 days and explain why.

We may need to confirm your identity before acting. We can ask you to reply from the email address on file or confirm order details already in the record. Do not send a copy of a government ID by ordinary email. If more proof is needed, we will explain a safer way to provide it.

You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it. We may require proof that the agent is authorized to act for you, and we may still need to verify your identity.

We do not charge for an ordinary privacy request. We will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lower level of service only because you exercised a privacy right, except when the information is required to provide the service or a different treatment is allowed by law.

Deletion has limits. We may need to keep a record when the law, an agency rule, a tax or accounting duty, a contract, a dispute, or a security need requires it. We cannot delete or change a record held by a government agency, your own company, or another record keeper. If we cannot grant all or part of a request, we will explain the reason. You may reply to the same privacy email and ask us to reconsider.

Deleting browser storage is separate from deleting a company record. We cannot clear the portal token, local orders, or other site data from your own device. You can clear site data in your browser settings.

Children

Our services are for businesses and the adults who run them. They are not directed at minors, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Outside Links

Our articles and resource pages can link to government agencies, brokers, service companies, and other websites. When you open an outside link, that website receives your visit under its own policies. Ordinary outside links on our resource pages do not carry your order or intake information.

Google Calendar links and the Google review link are different because you use them to open a Google page for a booking or review connected to your request. Those links are described in the booking and review sections of this policy.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is material, we will make a reasonable effort to notify affected customers by email before the change takes effect, where that notice is practical and legally permitted.

A material change will not be used to expand our use of sensitive driver, testing, Clearinghouse, or document records without the notice and consent required by law.
